CASE 1

  • Target: Post production inspection – CFRP rudder
  • Service: SIP – Standard Inspection Process
  • Technology: Computed Axial Tomography
  • Description: Volumetric inspection of 100% of the structure carried out with NDI proprietary solution. The inspection covered 100% of the rudder surface (3.5 meters length) in order to detect potential manufacturing defects: flaws can affect the structural performance of the piece. The most critical areas are the rudder root and the leading edge.

CASE 2

  • Target: Post production inspection and monitoring of the manufacturing process – Fiberglass motor yacht
  • Service: SIP – Standard Inspection Process
  • Technology: Thermosonics® combined techniques
  • Description: The aim of the NDI inspection on the hull is to precisely detect discontinuities as delaminations, lack of core bonding, or voids inclusions in the laminate. The use of the Thermosonics® combined technique allows us to inspect the total area of the hull and to check the quality of the manufacturing process.

CASE 3

  • Target: Post production inspection and monitoring of the manufacturing process – Fiberglass sailing boat 72ft
  • Service: SIP – Standard Inspection Process
  • Technology: Thermosonics® combined technique
  • Description: The NDI inspection covered the 100% of the hull. We detected a series of air voids located between the skin and the core. Those discontinuities were precisely mapped and drawn on the hull thanks to the Thermosonics® combined technique.
